Drafting Lead

Position has potential to be contract to direct

Position Summary: Role is responsible for all aspects of the Drafting group including CAD administration, reviewing the Drafting team’s work to ensure the drafting standards are followed, responsible for assignment of jobs to meet deadlines, create 3-D models for customers and vendors for part creation or concept evaluation, provide training and assistance to team members, and work within the Engineering Change Process. Accuracy of work and ability to verify the work of team members is critical

Job Functions

• Manage and assign the Drafting team’s workload.
• Review / check Drafting team’s drawing / models for manufacturing or fabrication use.
• Create models / drawings for manufacturing and/or fabrication.
• CAD Administration
• Follow the Engineering Change Process to ensure revision control and traceability of documents.
• Provide improvement recommendations on to reduce process waste or reduce cost.
• Provide training and develop junior team members.
• Communicate and coordinator with other departments the Drafting Team’s priority.
  
  

Job Requirements

Education

• Certificate, diploma in industrial design or drawing program; or equivalent experience.
  
  

Experience

• 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products
• Excellent CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoDesk Suite)
• Leadership
• Time management skills
• Ingenuity and attention to detail
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
• New Product Introduction / Development for bespoke goods
• Work with ERP system and databases
  
  

Certifications: SolidWorks Professional a plus.
