At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.

As a Director Solutions Architect, you will work with the CTO of the Optical Modules and Coherent Solutions Business Unit at Infinera to define the next generation of our digital coherent pluggable modules and high-speed component business’. You will develop and influence the GTM and WIN strategies for strategic accounts and partners, while also working closely with PLM leadership to meet customer solution requirements in the 18 to 36-month horizon.  You will evangelize Infinera's technical differentiation with customers and create trusted partner relationships to influence technology adoption.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Provide oversight to solutions life cycle management, including the definition of solutions requirements in collaboration with PLM.
  • Communicate with Market Development leaders, sales engineers, and sales leaders to deliver GTM and technical account strategies. 
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements: engage with customers to understand, anticipate, and influence their needs.
  • Responsible for development and delivery of technical product presentations / demonstrations.
  • Articulate to customers that a product or design solution best satisfies their requirements in terms of reliability, scalability, price, and delivery.
  • Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.

Specific Job Skills

  • Expert in optical and transmission systems engineering with a strong knowledge of telecommunications especially long haul, metro, DCI, and access DWDM transmission systems.
  • Expert knowledge of coherent pluggables, with understanding of key trade-offs between power, performance, and cost.
  • Exceptional presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possess a strong ability to turn concepts through the design cycle including solution development and cost modelling.
  • An articulate communicator, with excellent writing and social skills and an analytical approach to provide appropriate solutions to whichever tasks are presented.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment and appropriately prioritize tasks, and keep abreast of the latest technology.
  • Capability to work with people in different time zones.
  • Travel is required.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Physics, Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10 years of industry experience in coherent optical technologies
