Job Summary/Basic Function

The Director of Electronics Laboratories is responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting & repair, safety, enforcement of safety protocols, and training of faculty, staff, and students on all laboratory equipment, computer systems, hardware, software and supporting equipment housed in the department electronics laboratories. The selected individual will train and supervise students in the Electronics Laboratories on the safe operation of equipment and proper use of safety equipment; assist faculty, students, and authorized personnel in the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the laboratories. The incumbent will be involved in the revision of laboratory budgets; coordinate with faculty on strategic plans around teaching and research. The position is also responsible for project demonstration, student recruitment, and outreach events.

Required Education

Minimum of B.S. degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering/engineering technology, or a closely related field. M.S. degree is desirable.

Required Related Experience

Minimum of three years of progressive experience in analog and digital electronics, computer systems, and in maintaining, repairing, replacing, and/or upgrading laboratory and test equipment.
