Position Overview

  • Schedule – Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm - Flexibility to work additional hours may be required to meet company/project needs.
  • On-Site Requirement: This position requires physical presence at our corporate office during office hours.
  • Compensation Package–
    • $180,000 - $200,000 / year
    • Other compensation may include profit sharing and/or vehicle allowance.
    • The above compensation is a range. Offers are made based on the chosen candidate’s experience and the geographical location of this position.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in multi-family preconstruction/estimating.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Experience estimating for all scopes of a multifamily project is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and embraces a collaborative team approach.
  • Shows responsibility and takes pride in their work.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Your Role

  • Accurately estimate the total costs associated with our multifamily residential building projects.
  • Work closely with team members to develop, present and track value engineering options as needed to ensure project viability.
  • Perform detailed analysis of project specifications, understanding all material and labor requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with other professionals like engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of cost possibilities.
  • Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor quotations, ensuring they cover the required scope of work.
  • Propose alternatives and suggestions to reduce costs while maintaining quality and project objectives.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company policies and bidding procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on market trends in construction costs and advise on future projects' budgeting.
  • Ensure that estimates incorporate the expected quality standards of materials and workmanship.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
  • Maintain a historical record of project costs which can be referenced for future project estimates.
