Trading Manager

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic Commodity Trader to enhance our wheat trading operations in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development: Expand and maintain wheat trade flows within our group entities. Identify and pursue new trading opportunities and supply sources.
• Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with brokers, clients, and suppliers. Proactively source new business opportunities with producers.
• Trade Ideas & Execution: Present and pitch trade ideas involving cash, futures, and options. In collaboration with operations and logistics teams, ensure seamless and timely trade execution.
• Market Analysis: Conduct fundamental research and price analysis. Establish and study supply and demand dynamics with traders and the research department.
• Trade Desk Management: Oversee P&L accountability, inventory management, and daily futures statement reconciliation. Coordinate month-end reconciliations and supervise execution interfacing with the risk management team.
• Tender Participation: Participate in CNF tenders, including bid/performance bond management, pricing and offering, and hedging.
• Efficiency & Coordination: Drive desk efficiency and focus on commercial activities. Coordinate weekly product line calls and analyze USDA export reports.
• Junior Trader Development: Mentor and develop junior traders.

4. Contribution to global trading activities (Cash/Futures)

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, or Agricultural Sciences; or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in the wheat sector, with a proven track record in cash/flat trading.
• Experience in commodity organizations and a solid understanding of US crush activities.
• In-depth industry knowledge and familiarity with the commodity market.
