Regional Operations Manager, Logistics

Position Summary

The Regional Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations and profitability of the company’s branches within a specific region. This role conducts operational analyses and audits current procedures to monitor and improve the efficiency of operations and client satisfaction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversight of Daily Operations: The Regional Operations Manager supervises the daily activities of each branch in their geographic area. This includes managing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring efficient processes that ensure compliance with company, client, local, state, and Federal policies and regulations.
  • Staff Management: responsible for employee performance, development, and engagement across their region. This involves coaching, talent management, and addressing performance gaps.
  • Process Implementation: develops and implements operational processes to enhance efficiency and consistency across multiple locations.
  • Financial Monitoring: track financial performance, analyze data, and make informed decisions to optimize profitability.
  • Interpret and share location statistics with key stakeholders
  • Reviewing and interpreting of operating information as appropriate; coordinating and developing periodic operating analyses
  • Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
  • Representing the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promoting existing and new programs and/or policies
  • Oversight and supervision of up to 4 direct reports within a region
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business management or related field preferred
  • Four (4) years or more of work-related experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred Systems
  • Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 4-years of equivalent-level work experience or completion Bachelor’s Degree in business management or related discipline
  • Knowledge of warehouse management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
  • Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Strong presentation skills to engage with motor carriers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Employee development skills
  • Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment


Non-Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The non-essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Speaking with Motor Carriers and checking compliance
  • Communicating with other departments on updates, meetings, and other as needed
  • Interviewing and recruiting for Riverstone staff
  • Other duties as assigned

The employee is occasionally required to maneuver about the work areas and manipulate various objects. Occasionally the employee will be expected to move boxes, and manipulate objects in various directions. This position may require extended work hours and travel.
