Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Quality Inspector for a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.
The ideal candidate has experience working with railway and transit construction projects, as well as a Bachelor's degree in a field relating to Construction, Architecture, or Engineering.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Newark, NJ.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy
Inspect finished projects to ascertain quality, with the ability to point out any discrepancies, even minute
Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work
Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed
Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations
Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion
Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner
Other related duties and tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
Experience working within multiple concurrent projects
Bachelor's degree in a field relating to construction, engineering, or architecture required
8 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection, with at least 3 of those years being in constructing transit/railway projects
Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station, or soil, is preferred
OSHA 10 at minimum (additional training will be provided, if required)
NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrack safety training, is a plus but training will be provided, if required
