Position reports to: Director of Operations / Plant Manager / Value Stream Manager
Summary:
Responsible for the continuous improvement with regards to all production metrics and employee leadership within a single or multiple production department(s) within a Nosco Value Stream
Job Duties/Responsibilities (The “What”):
Responsible for multiple shifts of operation including the performance and development of all production employees and department supervisors/Leads
Demonstrates a “safety first” mentality by addressing safety issues both physical and behavior immediately and effectively through coaching and intervention and participates as an active member Nosco’s safety team
Responsible for continuous improvement of Nosco’s “Big Five” production metrics: Safety, Quality, Throughput, Customer, and Cost
Holds employees accountable for personal and team performance / outcomes
Effectively communicates and enforces company policies and procedures
Conducts performance evaluations of department personnel
Develops and maintains an effective equipment maintenance program in compliance with Nosco’s quality system
Ensures department activity is in compliance with company SOP’s, employee training is complete and effective, and that all documents and procedures are kept current
Commits to using the appropriate amount of labor and resources to effectively and efficiently run the manufacturing operation
Uses Quality tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to investigate the root cause of departmental errors or customer complaints. Implements corrective actions to address root causes and prevent repeat occurrences
Prepares annual department budgets for submittal to Plant Manager
Participates in the selection and justification of new capital equipment. Takes ownership of return on investment (ROI) commitments

Requirements:
BS degree in a technical field, Engineering discipline preferred
Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication
Possesses the appropriate managerial and supervisory skills required to successfully operate a manufacturing department
Supervisors experiences of a minimum of 3 years required
Experiences managing front-line Supervisors is preferred
Excellent organizational skills and ability to focus efforts of self and team on those that will improve the “Big Five” production metrics
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to lead and train staff
