Role Overview

We are seeking a Media Planning Consultant to join our dynamic Political Media team on a freelance basis. This role involves developing media plans for assigned accounts from April through November, focusing on the political media landscape. Candidates should be flexible, adept at multitasking, and interested in current events and US politics.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and voter journeys.

Assist in creating integrated media plan options and recommendations (digital and offline).

Maintain accurate budget control and manage client payments, vendor invoices, and buy sheets.

Demonstrate knowledge of digital media fundamentals, including media math, target audience development, and communication goals (reach, frequency, impressions).

Utilize media systems such as Telmar (MRI-Simmons, Scarborough) and MediaOcean (Prisma, OX), and proficiently use Microsoft Excel.

Ensure proper execution of digital media plans by monitoring schedules and reporting results.

Exhibit creativity and agility in problem-solving.

Seek out new opportunities, collaborate with investment teams on creative media activations, and author idea-centric briefs for partners.

Present work charismatically to internal and external stakeholders.

Analyze results and make optimization recommendations using empirical data.

Understand tactic strengths and weaknesses and guide digital performance media set-up and activation to achieve client goals and KPIs.

Synthesize media data to guide optimizations and inform media performance stories.

Ensure campaigns launch on schedule and are fully executed according to insertion orders.

Assist with documenting, updating, and maintaining traffic sheets, trafficking, and other digital workflow processes.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of media planning experience.

Strong research and analytical skills, good mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Familiarity with a variety of media tools and software.

Ability to organize, prioritize, work well under pressure with multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and multitask.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

Strong relationship-building skills.

Compensation

To comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws, the target range for this role in the United States is $7,000-8,000 per month. Actual compensation will depend on various factors including skill set, experience, and location.
