Job Title: Marketing & Design ManagerPosition Summary:Pete’s Fresh Market (PFM) is a family owned and operated supermarket and one of the leading independent grocers in the greater Chicagoland area. With 17 established locations and more on the way, PFM is looking to bring on motivated and knowledgeable leaders to the Pete's Team. This position will be focused on the following objectives:Increase PFM brand awareness and preferenceAid profitability by implementing and analyzing marketing initiatives to build market share, improve retention, and increase average basket sizeAttract new target markets in addition to maintain existing customer baseStay on top of new trendsCommunicate with corporate leadership team, buyers, and store managers to execute in-store events, sales campaigns, and programsDemonstrate Pete’s Market Four Pillars: Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Service.Essential Functions and Duties:Coordinate weekly ad creation with buyers and external printing company designersManage website content and update social media postsCreate graphic design for all posters, flyers, menus, in-store TV content, marquee, and private labelsManage a team of designers that create marketing collateral and update weekly sales adsPlan and manage yearly event calendar (major holidays, demonstrations and promos, radio events, educational activities, and grand openings)Assist with interior design and in-store graphicsBuild and manage the monthly store newsletterProvide merchandising directionEnsure the creative material produced is of the highest quality and represents a consistent brand image, message, and tone throughoutAbility to provide clear direction and articulate our vision to all levels within the companyPerform all other related duties and responsibilities as apparent or as assignedEducation, Certifications, and QualificationsBachelor’s Degree (or higher) in marketing, graphic design, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experienceGraphic design experience preferred (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)Web design experience a plus (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, Drupal CMS)Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPointOther Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong communication and organizational skillsExcellent fluency with the English language (grammar, spelling, and strong writing skills); fluent in Spanish language is a plusCopy writing and editing experience is a plusSelf-motivated and ambitiousDemonstrate leadership skillsAbility to wear “many hats” and be flexiblePhotography and/or video production skills not required, but a plusMust have a reliable source of transportationStrong analytical and decision-making skills, able to resolve complex issues in creative waysMust be able to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the business needsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequent use of hands for squeezing motion, bending and twisting wrists, sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, walking, turning, reaching, stooping/bending, squatting, lifting/carrying objects 5 to 40 lbs., hand to eye coordination; occasional lifting objects over 40 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping and crawling.
