Essential Functions:
As a Project Manager this person will apply project management practices and processes to various Engineering projects that involve multiple pieces of semi-automated or fully automated customized food processing and packaging equipment and takes complete responsibility for its success.
Job Duties may include but are not limited to:
Assists sales by helping to define the project requirements by understanding the customer’s needs, determining proper equipment, required line rates, space and utilities, and timeline
Assesses and manages risk
Manages expectations by setting realistic timelines, communicating project status, milestones, and unexpected difficulties
Develops and maintains schedules (design, manufacture, install, FATs)
Determine internal and external resources needed
Manages equipment integration – draws and publishes the lines mechanically and electrically
Manages salesmen, Reiser techs, and vendor techs (both Reiser suppliers and outside vendors)
Manages and disseminates documentation
Is a single point of contact for Reiser for project communication both internally and externally
Sources and procures equipment
Works with our vendors to make sure equipment is properly specified
Orchestrates internal and external FAT’s
Manages projects through our shops
Coordinates changes to standard equipment and assists with setup of equipment ahead of Factory Acceptance Testing
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred)
Educated in the fundamentals of project management
History of managing successful capital equipment projects including equipment from different suppliers
Has worked in the food industry and specifically with food production lines (preferred)
Solid understanding of how machines work/run
Professional communication skills both verbal and writing as well as solid presentation skills
2D and 3d CAD experience (Solidworks and AutoCAD Preferred)
Team Leadership (establishes goals and gets input from others)
Time Management skills of yourself and others
Management – focuses on getting work done against agreed upon requirements/timelines
Project management and organizational experience
Estimating Experience
Planning
Negotiation and Influencing skills
