Director of Security and Surveillance

FUNCTION

The Director of Security/Safety and Surveillance is responsible and accountable for the overall operation of the Security/Surveillance department. Ensures the physical security and safety aspects of the property. Implements programs to safeguard the welfare and assets of all guests and areas of operation.

  • Ensure the physical security and safety compliance of the Company to include employees, guests, and property.
  • Reviews, revises, maintains, and implements the organization’s fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Implement programs to safeguard the welfare and assets of all guests and areas of operation.
  • Conducts inspections to identify fire, safety, and security risks; recommends and implements solutions.
  • Assists with the preparation of the yearly security and surveillance budget.
  • Comply with all OSHA standards and collaborate with leadership to identify safety opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to include community involvement.
  • Manages property emergency and disaster plans conducting annual training exercises with employees.
  • Ensure the property complies with minimum age requirements in the gaming area. Managing all violations appropriately.
  • Ensure surveillance personnel maintain and use video/audio surveillance equipment to monitor gaming activities using multiple monitors; maintain surveillance over monetary transactions and stations; document monetary transactions for procedural inconsistencies; prepare and maintain logs/reports; and maintain communication with other departments.
  • Review, analyze, and determine equipment needs and installation of cameras, and works with applicable vendors to manage projects and ensure all requirements and expectations are met.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Leads direct reports who supervise employees through staffing, training, and performance management.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of security and surveillance departments.
  • Oversees and coordinates the workflow of assigned staff and departments to ensure projects are completed in a timely and quality manner.

Position Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and security operations.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills within the safety and security field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local government, and gaming laws. Innkeeper Laws, ABC control regulation, OSHA, and Health Department regulations.
  • Knowledge of modern technologies and advancements in security and surveillance services.
  • Assume charge of all operations in the event of a security alert.
  • Public relations and customer service skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the security department.

Education, Training, And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in security/surveillance management and patron/property liability of high-volume business.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
