TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

Location: Tucson Campus Employee Status: Permanent Hours Per Week: 40 Work Calendar: 12-Month Pay Rate: $18.14 Other: CDL with P&S endorsement

CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION

Essential Duties

  • Coordinate with Administrative staff to address transportation needs
  • Hire, schedule, train, and evaluate staff
  • Ensure driver training and certification renewals are completed per Arizona Department of Transportation standards
  • Manage schedule of drivers, bus chaperones, and state vehicles
  • Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and other related duties

  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit.
  • Principles and practices of administration and management.
  • Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
  • Federal and State laws regulating pupil transportation
  • Agency hiring practices and procedures
  • Software used to create reports, schedules, and route planning

  • Time management
  • Judgement and decision making
  • Bus evacuation procedures

ABILITY TO:

  • Communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage
  • Identify problems and provide solutions

SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass FBI and State background check.
  • Defensive Driver Training program to be completed by all Agency personnel that drive on State business
  • Valid Arizona Commercial Driver License with passenger and S endorsement
  • Must be able to pass post offer Physical
  • ASL (American Sign Language) skills if working with Deaf staff/students
  • Persons working directly with students must obtain CIT (Crisis Intervention Training), CPR, and First Aid Certification
