Overall Purpose

This position leads and manages the Information Technology Network Infrastructure and Cloud Operations team. The Senior Manager of Network Infrastructure and Cloud Operations is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of the on-premise and cloud network capabilities for Early Warning Services. This includes proactive monitoring and rapid response to alerts and incidents, performing upgrades, applying fixes/patches, remediating vulnerabilities, enhancing or building operational processes and supporting other technology teams in troubleshooting issues. In addition, this team is responsible for delivering and building the automation of standard network service requests. The position requires technical knowledge in the areas of wide-area and local-area networks, data center, wireless, network virtualization, software-defined networks, DNS, load balancing and firewalls and related technology. The position will engage and collaborate with peer Information Technology and Security organizations.

Essential Functions

  • Leads the deployment and execution of strategic infrastructure technology programs and initiatives that support the EWS corporate strategy.
  • Ensures the high availability, performance and security of all on-premise and cloud network infrastructure and leverages metrics to manage and continuously improve service levels.
  • Prepares technology life cycle refresh programs to ensure all network capabilities are kept at current levels and prevent technology obsolescence.
  • Utilizes automation tools and technologies to optimize the provisioning of infrastructure for customers.
  • Provides effective leadership direction, performance feedback and mentoring which will result in an engaged and high performing team. Performs regular one on ones with employees.
  • Interacts with customers, vendor partners and auditors in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Meets or exceeds customers’ expectations and ensures that programs and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provides reporting for defined key performance indicators on network availability, performance, lifecycle and services.
  • Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data. Strong focus on vulnerability and configuration management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physical Science or over 10 years working in information technology in lieu of a degree
  • 8 or more years direct/ related work experience and 3 or more years of leadership experience in applicable infrastructure roles.
  • The position requires technical knowledge in the areas of wide-area, local-area, data center, and wireless networks, network virtualization, VPN, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Technical experience with network and voice technologies, telecommunications, and transport technologies.
  • Experience leading diverse high performing teams including remote employees.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise platforms that are designed for scalability, resilience, and performance.
  • Understanding and experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • ITIL service management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required with a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships.
  • Experience in analyzing technical issues and making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience leading technical teams in response to incidents and issues, including other engineers.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The Pay Scale For This Position In

Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $140,000 - $160,000.
