POSITION OVERVIEW: Overseeing the maintenance and repair operations the Freeport, Texas location. Ensuring adequate availability of parts to repair chassis, gensets, and refrigeration units in our warehouse, meeting operational needs while adhering to state and federal laws and regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meeting the weekly Maintenance and Repair (M&R) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Chassis Preventative Maintenance (PMs)
Genset Preventative Maintenance PMs
Out of Service
Ensure accurate recording of all work orders in MCS system to reflect actual repairs and PMs completed weekly
Oversee the check-in and check-out process of PMs in the shop
Order necessary parts and materials through MCS system
Evaluate equipment to be sent to third party vendors
Receive delivered parts/materials promptly into MCS system to maintain accurate inventory
Maintain accuracy of spare part inventory
Validate invoices from third-party vendors
Follow up on invoicing to ensure timely payment to vendors
Finding and preparing equipment for off hire when needed
Validating over the road repairs when equipment is returned
Provide mechanics with supplies to ensure proper repairs
Approve, coordinate and check invoices for over the road repairs (OTR)
Adhere to all maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Help with LTR rotation if needed
Participate in special projects and miscellaneous assignments as directed by the M&R Manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required
Mechanical background or experience a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong computer skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and high attention to detail
Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read, speak, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Must wear approved safety shoes
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
General office, shop, yard and warehouse setting
Incumbent may use calculators, computers, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
Must be able to lift 50 pounds easily throughout shift
Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis
Must be able to work shifts as assigned such as weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime
Stooping, squatting, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, lifting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
Use repetitive motions using upper and lower extremities, mount and dismount equipment
