Cement Supervisor

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Cement Field Manager, the Service Supervisor I coordinate, oversees and executes the Cementing service line work at the well site, providing quality service to the customer. This position provides necessary planning and executing for the job, including instructions to the crew, which equipment is used, and dispute resolutions to approved levels. The Cementing Supervisor's emphasis is on employee development, operational excellence and customer satisfaction for the long-term growth and profitability of the area. The Supervisor also acts as the primary contact between the cementing PSL and the Customer Representative at the well site. Skills are typically acquired by completion of the Competency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintains documented performance measures and results for best practices within the service line.
  • Supervise and Coach Equipment Operators.
  • Coordinates and assist the activities during the rigging up and down of service line equipment.
  • At the end of each job, coordinates the cleaning of equipment in preparation for the next job.
  • Manages processes and interfaces with the customer as well as other service providers to ensure job site execution is as designed.
  • Follows up with the customer regarding job site performance current good details, Assess Risk and contact Supervisor if needed.
  • Promotes and takes an active part in the Service Quality Process.
  • Plans and performs necessary calculations for the total job at the well site as needed.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with work performed.
  • Evaluates the individual performance levels of the crews and trains crews to improve their job performance.
  • Complies with all company and client Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices and guidelines.
  • Continually emphasize safety. Participate or lead safety meetings, hazard hunts and ensures JSA’s are followed
  • Complete Post Job Paperwork.
  • Periodically review the requirements established by job policy and procedure.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions or hazards immediately
  • Follow instructions given by Supervisory personnel.
  • Performs work on his/her own as well as providing assistance to others as directed.
  • Must participate in all company provided training as required by job position.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
  • Adheres to Company policies and work requirements.
  • Conducts an annual review of the Position Definition and updates as required.
  • Required to complete a OSHA respirator fit test.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of and Compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of company policies, HSE standards and departmental guidelines.
  • Skills to drive Commercial A Vehicles
  • Knowledge of Lifting, Hoist, Slings.
  • Ability to work with customers to understand needs for services.
  • Ability to perform all equipment function checks in preparation for the job.
  • Ability to Perform Basic Maintenance on equipment, cement heads and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Ability to coach on the execution of a standard cement job
  • Knowledge of the operation of All Bulk Equipment, High-Pressure Iron rig up and rig down, High Pressure Mixing Pumps, Blenders and Auxiliary Equipment.
  • Knowledge of Post Job Paperwork
  • Knowledge and skills on Supervision
  • Ability to Coach employees on Blow down, Move Field Bins and Vertical Silos
  • Ability to follow the Journey Management Process.
  • Ability to understand Proposals, Job Design, Lab Reports.
  • Ability to perform Cement Job Calculations, Verify Blend Sheets and complete field job paperwork
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English
  • Ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) to make job-related calculations.
  • Computer skills
  • Must participate in all company provided training as required by job position.

  • Adheres to Company policies and work requirements.
  • Conducts an annual review of the Position Definition and updates as required.

Minimum Required Education

  • H.S. Diploma - Preferred, or
  • G.E.D. - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License - Required, or
  • Commercial Driver's License - Required
