It provides programmes across a wide range of Health and related disciplines and has extensive links with Health providers across the region and beyond.

The Role

This role will provide Executive support to the Dean, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Deans office. You will develop an understanding of the Deans work to anticipate and resolve issues, exercising a high level of discretion.

You will use your initiative and organisational skills to provide executive support for all aspects of the Deans work including internal and external relations, diary management, communications, travel, meeting support, event co-ordination and general administrative duties.

You will be an experienced and confident administrator with outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills you will be engaging, have good judgement and engender trust from those you work with.

You will be able to communicate professionally and effectively with a range of stakeholders, dealing with issues confidentially and diplomatically. You will be able to work calmly under pressure, with close attention to detail and a flexible approach to changing priorities.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Educated to RQF Level 3 (A Level, Scottish Higher or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in an Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant role dealing with administrative and information management systems and understanding of the relevant terminology.
  • Skills and knowledge to provide advice and support (eg to administrative processes) interpret requirements and produce appropriate solutions based on a general brief and be able to create standard and more complicated documents or materials for others.
  • Awareness of techniques to effectively plan and organise short-term activities and events.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability to understand and interpret information and make recommendations. For example, skills for analysing data and reports.
  • Experience of, and the resilience to, work in a high intensity environment with competing priorities and timescales.
  • Familiarity with, and an understanding of, financial information.
