Job Description

Role Title: Data Quality Analyst

Location: London, Hybrid

The Data Quality Analyst will be a key member of the Data Governance team, driving a variety of data quality improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with data owners and stewards to define minimum standards for Critical Data Attributes (CDA) and establish processes to monitor ongoing data quality. When issues arise, you will work with various teams to investigate root causes, design and implement remediation plans, and ensure that robust controls are in place to maintain data quality within acceptable risk levels.

What You’ll Do

  • Data Quality Improvement: Define and implement data quality standards, policies, and best practices across the Data Ownership & Steward community.
  • Data Profiling: Profile data to assess current data quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis on data issues and recommend remediation actions.
  • Issue Monitoring and Escalation: Monitor data quality issues, investigate root causes, and escalate issues to data owners as needed.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain and update key data management artefacts, including data catalogues, definitions, glossaries, and lineage documentation.
  • Project Advisory: Advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure data-related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated, and managed in accordance with Data Governance standards.
  • Training and Communication: Create high-quality training and communication materials to promote data quality practices across Gousto.


Who You Are

  • Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of SQL or advanced Excel for data investigation; exposure to Ovaledge, dbt, Elementary, Databricks, Sisense Cloud, or similar tools.
  • Data Quality Expertise: Experience defining and implementing data quality rules and frameworks (e.g. DAMA).
  • Data Management: Proven experience in creating and maintaining data management artefacts such as glossaries, definitions, standards, and lineage.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong ability to gather and interpret business needs and requirements, with a focus on detail-oriented problem-solving.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable for different audiences.
  • Self-Motivation: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, technology-focused environment.
