Secondary and Middle School Teacher: Design, Technology, and Arts (Multiple Positions)

Middle and Secondary School Teacher, School Year 2024/25

Subjects: Design and Technology (Secondary), Arts and Design (Secondary), Technology/ICT (Middle)

Do you have experience teaching in a Secondary School and/or with teaching the Cambridge Curriculum? Then you are the teacher, we are looking for.

We are seeking dynamic educators for the following combined positions:

Design and Technology Teacher (Secondary School)

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology.
• Foster creativity and innovation among students.
• Utilize modern teaching techniques and technology to enhance learning.

Arts and Design Teacher (Secondary School)

• Inspire students in the fields of Arts and Design.
• Encourage artistic expression and critical thinking.
• Integrate interdisciplinary approaches to teaching art and design.

Technology/ICT Teacher (Middle School)

• Teach Technology and ICT skills to middle school students.
• Prepare students for the digital world with practical and theoretical knowledge.
• Promote problem-solving and logical thinking through ICT.

Aprendizes is an independent, private school in Cascais, Portugal, with students aged 3-18. As our vision “Together, we Educate for Change” says, we have the aspiration to make the world a better place and we actively engage as local and global citizens. Our approach is student-centred, real-life connected, bi-lingual and based on active learning. At Aprendizes our students can be themselves and we place equal value on our students' well-being, academics, and engagement. Our school is located at the outskirt of Cascais, next to the Sintra National Park and with a view to the mountains and Guincho beach. The connection with nature is something that we value and it is a part of the everyday life of the school, through activities and our work with sustainability. We offer the National Portuguese curriculum from pre-school to 6th grade, with strong complementation of the English language, and the International Cambridge Curriculum for 7th to 12th grade.​ With our roots in the Portuguese culture, our diverse community currently embraces around 550 students, 130 professionals, and hundreds of families from around 40 nationalities.

We might be a good match if you have….

• A Bachelor’s degree, a recognized teacher certification and relevant teaching experience to qualify;
• Experience in teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum or other International Curriculums.
• Experience in Classroom Management
• Fluency in English
• Experience from the world – preferable with experience in teaching in a global context;
• The ability to create strong and caring relationship with students and families.
• Solid digital skills and a curiosity to learn more.
