Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to join our team as a Financial Controller for the Central D&T (Digital & Technology) Team in Amsterdam! In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering financial and operational reports, managing budgets, leading month-end and year-end processes, and overseeing a Financial Analyst. You will also participate in projects to improve the efficiency of our department, manage internal audits and risks, and maintain financial reporting tools. This position requires a solid background in finance, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.


Roles & responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver all financial/operational reports for Central D&T
  • Coordinate and manage the HO Run budget (Actuals, AP, SP, Rofo);
  • Support strategic controller, business control with ad-hoc requests
  • Lead month-end / year end processes for D&T HO and own delivery of D&T HO BPR
  • Participate in projects that improve the effectiveness and/or efficiency of D&T
  • Oversight of Financial Analyst, providing daily guidance and direction and coordinating back office related activities
  • Contribute to the shaping of optimal charging mechanisms / Transfer Pricing in alignment with TP, Tax, and other stakeholders. Lead any necessary changes in accounting and reporting treatments of agile programs. Draft position papers and coordinate with Global Accounting & Reporting as necessary;
  • Project support (new TP project) aimed to improve charging mechanism, planning & reporting capabilities;
  • Accountable for Time-writing process & capitalization
  • Ensure proper management of internal Audits and Risks;
  • Develop and maintain the current D&T Financials PowerBIs;
  • Responsible for Balance sheet reviews (quarterly submission), hygiene of fixed assets register;
  • Own people cost planning, FTE reporting for Global, Regions & OpCos(SP, AP, Actuals & RoFo);
  • Continuous improvement and setting up business procedures and internal controls.


Experience & profile (what & how)

What:

  • Education: Degree / Master in business economics or accounting & control. Studying for RA or RC. Thorough knowledge of business economical processes
  • Work experience: 8 years of relevant experience in Finance, with solid knowledge of back-office finance and cross functional planning & control experience
  • Required work experience in field of expertise: Demonstrated experience in business control, financial control and/or FP&A
  • Other fields of expertise: Experience of working within a multinational matrix style environment is valuable
  • Functional skills: Finance knowledge, Analytical, Experience with SAP, strong communicator
  • Languages: English (excellent verbal & written skills)
