what we're looking for

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Internal Audit to join our Corporate Internal Audit Department. The position, based in Spain, is expected to provide independent,objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve Exide Technologies operations worldwide.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director Internal Audit, this role is responsible for conducting and reporting on scheduled audits, control testing, investigations and otherassigned projects.

Assignments may include any Company area, including audits operational in nature (sales, procurement, inventory, logistics, etc), financial audits, compliance audits (GDPR,FCPA, etc) as well as special projects where the auditor partners with the business taking an advisory/coordination/facilitation role.

Main Respobnsabilities:

• Audit Projects: Gets a good preliminary understanding of the audit area and plans audit procedures to address the risks identified. Executes the audit project efficiently,ensuring projects are completed in time and within budget. Prepares a clearly written audit report.
• Internal Controls / Compliance: Evaluates the operating effectiveness of the system of internal controls, adherence to established policies and procedures and conductstest work.
• Fraud Risk: Stays alert to identify red flags which may indicate that fraud might have been committed.
• Special Projects: ranging from advisory services, management requests, investigations, risk management, governance reviews and any other project which may benefitfrom a special and focused review.
• Business Process Analysis: Documents the business processes using narrative and flowcharts. Communicate gaps to business process owner and providerecommendations for improvements.

Desired candidate profile:

University degree in accounting, business administration or finance. Master’s degree is a plus

Professional auditing/accounting certification (CIA, ACCA, ROAC, KIRB or equivalent). CISA certification is a plus.

5 years of experience in the field of audit in Big 4 (no financial services or insurance) or equivalent auditing experience in manufacturing industrial companies.Experience in international environments.

Good grasp of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP, IFRS, Spanish GAAP).

Strong knowledge of the MS Office package; in particular advanced user of MS Excel. ACL user

Very good English (C1) both speaking and writing.

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision

Good grasp of IT General Controls, experience reviewing IT controls will be a plus.

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
