Sr. Accountant - Fast Paced U.S. Startup (remote)

Our client is a venture capital backed U.S. technology company looking for an experienced Accountant that has previous work experience at a Big 4 firm as well as a startup. This is a fast paced startup environment where the candidate will need to have an ownership mentality and communicate very well. They will play a key role across accounting and customer contract management.

This is a remote position and expected to work 40 hours per week on a U.S.A. Pacific Coast time zone (9am-5pm, M-F). The candidate will report directly to the COO/CFO and work closely with other members of the senior management team. We are looking for someone who possesses great attention to detail, is highly organized and can manage detailed processes. In addition, they must have strong accounting experience, business acumen, financial analysis skills and great English communication skills (both writing and speaking).

Primary Responsibilities

Accounting / Finance

    • Manage various internal accounting platforms related to the monthly AP cycles for vendors, employees, and contractors
    • Review Ramp.com platform monthly for charges, coding, and preparation for Finance team
    • Review employees' company credit usage aligns to policy and work with management as necessary
    • Create external wires and payments to vendors and contractors
    • Support employees on a day-to-day basis and answer questions in regards to payroll, stipends, commission, bonus, AP & AR
    • Preside over the payroll of employees and contractors – approve, confirm payment, reimbursements, payments of bonus, commissions and stipends, input pay changes
    • Run quarterly VAT analysis and reporting for the company
    • Analyze and report on the annual company bonus scheme
    • Obtaining evidence on behalf of the company for investor due diligence, as needed
    • Creating Ramp Cards for special purposes (Offsite, SaaS, Department, Travel, etc.)
    • Audit Ramp.com Cards (limits, transactions, removing old/outdated cards, etc.)
    • Following up with invoices or payments
    • Prepare and fill out vendor forms
Legal / Contracts

    • Responsible for all aspects of contract management, from file folder creation, filing, and tracking all fully executed contracts and documentation
    • Manage contractemail inbox
    • Manage “Contracts” DocuSign Profile
    • Review and prepare MNDA’s/NDA’s, Consultant Agreements, CIIA Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Employee Contracts (commission statements/requested letters), Customer Forms (customer information sheets/purchasing policies/security questionnaires)
    • Search the Consolidated Screening List (CSL) from the US Government's International Trade Administration
    • Execute the process for approval(s) and signature(s) through DocuSign
    • Route documents requesting signatures and/or review to COO/CFO
    • File signed contracts in the named folder
    • Rename file names for easy accessibility
    • Add (new) companies to the Legal Tracker
    • Audit folders to ensure documents are signed/countersigned and proper security access/permissions are in place
    • Maintain a “Contracts Status Report Spreadsheet”
    • Track the number of MNDA’s processed each month - report to COO/CFO
    • File all completed DocuSign envelopes into the appropriate category
    • Add SaaS Contracts to Vendr
    • Provide contracts to employees as requested
Legal Tracker

  • Adding new companies/individuals
  • Update each entry as new contracts are added to the file folder
  • Audit each entry for compliance and consistency
  • Assign appropriate security access/permissions for each folder link
  • Color code by contract type

The Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience as an accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPAs preferred
  • Experience running U.S. Payroll
  • Experience running AP and AR and managing vendor/customer contracts
  • Experience reviewing and creating contracts for DocuSign signature
  • Very strong attention to detail and ability to manage detailed monthly processes
  • Solid understanding of financial statements (IS, CF, BS)
  • Experience with NetSuite, Ramp.com, DocuSign, Vendr
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PPT
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Proven experience meeting regular deadlines
  • High attention to detail on all work product
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Can work USA Pacific Standard Time hours (9am-5pm, M-F)
