The Holton-Arms School seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Website and Digital Content Specialist to join our communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our organization’s digital content strategy and overseeing the technical aspects of our website and internal portals.

Reporting to the Head of Strategic of Marketing and Communications, the Website and Digital Content Specialist will be responsible for articulating and promoting Holton-Arms’ mission, strategic goals, and institutional brand. The qualified candidate must be able to create and execute tactics to support Holton’s marketing and communication strategy, including the management of digital content, social media, photography and videography, and special projects.. Applicant must be a creative and strategic thinker who can manage a variety of content projects from concept to execution.

Essential Functions

  • Provide strategic oversight and daily management of the Holton-Arms website, including routine maintenance, and SEO.
  • Create, edit, and publish high-quality, engaging storyteller content for our website, and collaborate with the Creative Marketing Manager to push content to social media channels.
  • Develop and implement digital content strategies that align with our organization’s goals and target audience, introducing new features and functionalities.
  • Collaborate with key constituents to curate differentiator information on microsites, targeted pages, or landing pages.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to digital content creation and web development.
  • Train and support staff members on content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing processes. Oversee contributions for quality and consistency.
  • Support the school’s overall communication and marketing goals.
  • Work proficiently with student management software (Veracross), Finalsite, SchoolCast, Adobe Creative Suite, and other necessary systems.
  • Serve as an active and engaged member of the Communications and Marketing team with a growth mindset.
  • Proactively manage and update website content, ensuring alignment with best practices, including keywords, meta descriptions, tagging, and back-end functionality.
  • Provide digital/web support for communications assets and managing online components of school events.
  • Leverage Google Analytics and similar measurement tools to make strategic website recommendations and decisions.
  • Optimize content for SEO and user experience, ensuring it drives traffic and engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic and user behavior to continuously improve performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (4 years) as a Digital Content Specialist, Webmaster, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and Data Management platforms.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced photography and videography skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, samples will be requested.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while also being a disciplined, independent worker.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of a diverse community.
  • Eagerness to engage in the life of the school community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and multimedia and video content creation.
