Overview

This position requires maintaining a high level of service to internal customers by understanding and developing business processes that will serve their needs. These services will require strong record-keeping skills to ensure that inventory balances are accurate and correctly maintained in our MRP system. This position also requires the ability to analyze inventory reports and records while troubleshooting and correcting any inventory discrepancies or issues. This role will act as liaison between the execution of the daily purchasing of materials in support of the production plan and management's inventory control and supplier development strategy. Participates in raw material and finished goods negotiations. The individual within this role would be accountable to support Production, Planning, and Internal Customers; through involvement in Plant activities/KPI/etc.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Functions
    • Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Develops and maintains inventory control procedures
    • Analyze, maintain and record inventory balances.
    • Troubleshoot and correct inventory discrepancies or issues.
    • Understand and maintain processes to serve customer needs.
    • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with MRP system
    • Buyer Functions
    • Vendor management
    • Sourcing strategies to assists projects
    • Issue RFQs to new and existing vendors
    • Supplier negotiations
    • Issue PO's, support production requirements
    • Planner Functions
    • Work Order management
    • BOM review
    • Manage material movement in MRP system
    • Recognize demand patterns/trends
    • Capable of forecasting
    • Manage the department workflow
    • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 4-7 years of experience in a production environment.
    • Knowledge and experience with inventory control procedures
    • Proficient with Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or other relevant field
    • Advanced interpersonal skills
    • Cross functional leadership ability
    • Ability to search and extract data from an MRP system
    • Take part in group strategy to continuously improve business processes
    • Strong communication skills

    • Organization and time-management skills
