About The Position

At the University Student Health Center, students are seen by advanced practice clinicians that assess and treat many common acute health conditions affecting the college health population. In congruence with Radford’s mission to develop students as citizen leaders, the University Health Center is committed to providing health care services, education and leadership uniquely designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of University students, and to enhance the quality of life for all members of the Radford Community, including faculty.

Position Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scanning patient documents into electronic health record.
  • Demonstrates awareness of appropriate confidentiality rules and regulations and acts accordingly.
  • Manage Release of Information forms for incoming and outgoing requests.
  • Fax signed orders to appropriate offices.
  • Work alongside the clinical department to schedule exams such as x-rays, CT’s, and MRI’s.
  • Work alongside clinical team to schedule appointments while the patient is in the office.
  • Prior Authorizations for procedures and specialty appointments
  • Works the Input Que (Incoming faxes) and assigns documents accordingly.
  • Provides information needed for audits.
  • As an MOA, may be to fill in at front desk or call center in times of need.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Health Records Coordinator or medical information management.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (i.e. Electronic Medical Records).
  • Certified through the National Health Administration (NHA) as a Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
