First Line Risk Associate Director

MUFG Investor Services is seeking a First Line Risk Associate Director to join our Business Unit Control Office (BURCO). The qualified individual will join a highly detail-oriented team responsible for providing strategic support to the first line Risk Functions in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the first line Risk programs and related policies & procedures. The First Line Risk Director will have an active role in the development and implementation of enhancements to the overall first line Risk Programs, conducting control tests, documenting risk and control self assessments, updating and tracking issues and providing management reporting to various committees while managing a small team.

Responsibilities

Support a small team of First Line Risk Managers in day-to-day execution of baseline risk management activities.

Responsible for the Risk, Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program execution and delivery, including reporting to both MFS and MUFG Combined U.S. Operations (for example, RCSA execution, control testing, key risk metrics monitoring, etc.).

Monitor and track open issues and observations and work with various business areas to drive remediation efforts.

Responsible for the development of management reports and providing periodic First Line Risk updates to the Senior Management forum.

Manage and track policies and procedures as well as develop and maintain entity’s First Line Risk procedures.

Performs other duties as required and participate in special projects as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Senior Management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree is required from a four-year college or university
• Minimum 5 years of Operational Risk Management experience in the Financial Services industry (Experience in SLoD Risk roles is highly desirable)
• Hands on knowledge of risk assessment methodologies with strong cross-experience in Financial Services: the Fund Services environment is preferred
• Proven ability to demonstrate detailed knowledge of various operational risk types and understanding of internal control principles to support successful execution of risk programs
• Project management skills and ability to track project progress and direct/redirect team efforts
• Have a structured and determined approach to work, display a keen sense of attention to detail
• Complete work in a timely and accurate manner, with the ability to manage the team’s workload effectively
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced PC skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
