Summary

Serves as a consultative and strategic partner in the design, development, and execution of volunteer program and strategies including activities such as, but not limited to, sourcing, recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives that align with the mission, values, and objectives of Memorial Healthcare System (MHS).

Responsibilities

Determines communication protocols for volunteers and those who work with them.Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.Creates volunteer policies and procedures including volunteer forms, volunteer position job descriptions, volunteer handbook and code of conduct.Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Volunteer Coordinators, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continued education initiatives.In collaboration with internal partners, supports the Memorial Experience through voice of customer measurement tools to ensure volunteer and department leaders’ experience (i.e., annual volunteer survey, annual leader survey); also ties in patient experience impact.Leads, develops, designs and evaluates volunteer recruitment and retention strategies: leverages existing volunteer network, and cultivates new relationships/partnerships to create pipelines (represents the organization at community events, builds pipelines/networks, develops community partnerships, etc.).Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding volunteer processes (i.e., partners with and influences business leaders on volunteer strategies, plans, and practices).Facilitates the development and maintenance of the Volunteer Branding Strategy to effectively attract volunteers through marketing initiatives and plans.Develops strong working relationships with high schools, colleges/universities and community-based organizations. Obtains working knowledge of their programs.Develops, designs, monitors, and evaluates volunteer appreciation and recognition programs.Develops, maintains, and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to measure and report efficiency, service, and productivity results to improve effectiveness of the function.
