The Costing Assistant will support the production-planning department. Provide general clerical task such as data entry, correspondence preparation and maintenance, generating standard database reports, system validation, and follow up related to special projects. Duties include but not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with and monitor design on product development task
Facilitate communication between vendors
Ensure all products are in compliance with CIVIL policies and procedures
Manage the pre-costing process which includes analyzing design cards, markers, fabric specs, and trim specs to estimate the most realistic and accurate pricing for all styles
Review and negotiate costing and profitability margins
Obtain time and action calendar information from all vendors with prices and communicate the same to planning in a timely manner. All schedules should be set up using the most cost-effective shipping method
Facilitate all sample yardage coordination including purchases, track delivery and development (in some cases)
Interact with vendors to build sustainable business relationships
Assist with publishing and distribution of Purchase Orders and updating daily’s schedule to include: PO’s #, styles, fabric, etc.
Assists the Costing Manager on a daily basis by providing update-to-date cost sheet, line sheet, fabric info, yields, pattern cards, etc.
Process Import PO’s and prepare Import Production packages
Prepare and send out fabric swatches and color standards to vendors.
Set up styles on Full Circle.
Request FDS from mills.
Confirm fabric price and delivery with mills.
Set up cost sheet with accurate information.
Good follow up skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook or related software, Excel – (formulas such as vlookup and pivot tables) *THIS IS A MUST*
Proficient in Photo Shop & Illustrator is a plus but not required
Data Entry experience utilizing Full Circle
Order Management systems (Full Circle, Sage/, Tukatech) *THIS IS A MUST*

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma
Minimum 1-2 years at a Domestic apparel production company is preferred
