Job Summary

Behavioral Health Associates work alongside our medical staff and licensed behavioral health professionals to provide integrated behavioral health services to patients in the context of a medical visit. They also provide individual and group counseling services, in collaboration with lay health workers, as part of research study being conducted by Drexel University. What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide culturally sensitive, strengths based, trauma-informed care to a diverse population
  • Meet with patients individually in the context of their medical visit to provide targeted interventions addressing behavioral health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, developmental concerns, and substance use
  • Collaborate with patients and medical providers to provide effective treatment planning and targeted interventions to help patients set and meet goals for improved physical and psychosocial functioning
  • Create, plan, and facilitate groups in a variety of innovative formats to promote emotional wholeness and address specific patient needs
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as part of a research study on improving patient access to behavioral health care through the use of community health workers
  • Provide crisis intervention, crisis management, and safety planning as appropriate
  • Document patient progress and services provided in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Assist with referrals to higher levels of behavioral health care and provide information about other community resources as appropriate

You May Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Applicants who plan to pursue, or are currently pursuing, licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT are strongly preferred. Applicants who are already fully licensed as an LCSW, Psy. D, LPC, or LMFT are eligible to apply for our Behavioral Health Consultant position.
  • Are bilingual in English and Spanish (we may consider applicants who are willing to participate in immersive language training)
