STAR is looking for an experienced art instructor to implement art programs for adult aged individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our ideal candidate will have had previous experience in art education and/or a working knowledge of varied art mediums. This person will be tasked with creating age-appropriate projects for the individuals we serve. This is a wonderful opportunity to help harness the abilities of our individuals by fostering an environment for them to express their creativity.

A Day in the life of an Art Instructor
As the Art Instructor with STAR, you will charged with creating and overseeing various art programs for our day program participants through various mediums (paint, crafts, etc.). Our Art Instructor runs three art classes a day in a day program setting for individuals who have expressed an interest in art. This person works with the understanding that all the individuals we serve are capable of creating different works and collaborates with the team to make these projects approachable to all.
Our art instructor plays a meaningful role in fostering a creative outlet for those we serve. The artwork our individuals create fosters an immense sense of pride and accomplishment. These works are displayed throughout STAR facilities, art shows and other venues. Qualifications For The Job
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Experience in Art education and or a working artist with knowledge of varied art mediums
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
