Who We Are

SNHMC has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services range from elective and non-elective procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics. Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform. The OR also offers Periop-101 and advancements.

About The Job

As a member of the Surgical Services team, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the department. S/he demonstrates organizational ability in coordinating divisional workflow. The administrative assistant ensures the maintenance of up-to-date organizational references and coordinates administrative support functions for the divisions. S/he communicates effectively in a confidential manner with all internal and external customers. The Administrative is accountable to the Associate Vice President.

What You’ll Do

  • Manages calendars for the Chief Surgical Officer, Associate Vice President and all Directors as instructed.
  • Creates and modifies documents, spreadsheets and databases using Microsoft Office or other applicable software.
  • Performs general clerical duties including, but not limited to, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Receives and screens incoming requests to the department making referrals and taking action when appropriate.
  • Coordinates and sets up meetings as directed, including all necessary materials and food
  • Records, transcribes, files, and distributes meeting minutes.

Who You Are

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years Administrative Assistant experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to function independently and work well with others to accomplish projects.
  • Ability to achieve the following competencies:

    • Archiving/Filing
    • Supply management
    • Workflow management
