Job Title: Programmer L1

Job Summary:

The Programmer is responsible for support for existing applications and ongoing maintenance, using knowledge of programming and system requirements.

Essential Functions:

Programming

  • Aids in the maintenance of existing programs. Works closely with internal staff as well as senior developers for mentoring and direction.
  • Utilizes knowledge of common programming concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on instruction and pre-established procedures and processes to perform the functions of the job.


Communication/Experience

  • Position will typically require 0-2 years of experience.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Position involves a broadened scope of cross interaction with multiple internal teams.


Minimum Requirements:

Specific Job Skills:

  • Knowledge of common data structures including XML, JSON, delimited data
  • Knowledge of Perl/Scripting (recommended but not required)
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts

Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree or 2 year Associates Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems

Experience: Related experience such as previous work setting, internships, etc.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
