About The Role

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible developing and facilitating engaging training, managing EWC’s learning management system, and partnering cross-functionally to drive impact throughout the franchise network.


A Day in the Life

  • Owns learning projects through all phases including needs analysis, stakeholder management, design, development, delivery, and assessment for multiple delivery methods including instructor-led, web-based, eLearning, performance coaching, and blended instruction.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal teams to analyze needs, select the right delivery option(s), design the solution, and support the implementation and delivery of the training program.
  • Proactively identifies training needs through needs assessments, presenting recommendations and developing learning solutions to address performance gaps.
  • Facilitates virtual and in-person training, workshops and meetings.
  • Creates instructor and participant materials, job aids/resources, surveys, quick reference guides, FAQs, and assessment instruments.
  • Designs pre- and post-assessments to measure learning.
  • Monitors and measures the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and revises programs and materials as necessary to increase their effectiveness.
  • Provides technical leadership in the support of EWC’s Learning Management System.
  • Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Identifies opportunities in the LMS for process and quality improvements, as well as overseeing system updates and upgrades.
  • Assesses and tests LMS features to minimize error and limit negative impact to internal clients.
  • Partners with Business Support team to identify and implement latest LMS enhancements and functionality and how the LMS integrates with other technologies.
  • Ensures learning resources are up to date and manages versions on internal platforms.
  • Leads and manages brainstorming and design sessions.
  • Prepares key stakeholders to present Learning and Development deliverables such as communications, presentations, or training.
  • Supports project management, governance and activities associated with large scale programs and initiatives and ensures integration and alignment across multiple concurrent programs and initiatives.
  • Designs event programming for Franchisees and Center Leadership teams.
  • Implements creative ways to build awareness of program offerings to increase engagement and participation through regular communication using various channels.
  • Anticipates project issues/risks and clearly communicates resolutions.
  • Analyzes and improves existing processes.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Up to 50% travel.

  • Demonstrate experience with industry-standard methodologies, such as ADDIE and SAM models, Blooms Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick and Phillips’ Levels of Evaluation.
  • Proficient in designing in Articulate, Captivate and similar software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook


Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4 years of progressive experience in learning functions required.
  • 4 years of instructional design or training development experience.
  • 4 years of experience working closely with subject matter experts to develop training.
  • Experience with LMS administration preferred.
  • Experience in franchise/distributed workforce environments is preferred.
  • In-depth Human Resources, Organizational Development and/or Talent Management background highly preferred.
  • CPLP, CTDP, or other equivalent certifications/training preferred.
