Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer

Paygrade: 10 Paygrade Range: $94,348- $169,641

Salary Range: $120,000- $130,000

The Human Resources Director is responsible for the development and execution of the human resource approach that supports the organizational business plan and strategy. The HR Director is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources department and all its functions. They will develop and implement policies and procedures for accomplishing human resources goals and objectives of the organization and will provide strategic leadership, communicating all HR needs and updates to the executive management team.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Develop HR strategy that supports the overall business goals of GMRI.
  • Serve as a strategic business advisor to the executive management team around key organization or management issues.
  • Develop a strong recruiting and retention strategy to meet the talent needs of the organization.
  • Assist leadership in succession planning within each department to be sure GMRI’s mission continues with minimal disruption.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to update comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are fiscally responsible for the organization.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR department in the areas of recruiting, career development, succession planning, retention, training, compensation and benefits.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, And Justice (DEIJ)

  • Support DEIJ initiatives, strategy development, and implementation with Management Team, DEIJ Advisory Committee, and Board.
  • Initiate benchmarking strategies to aid in adopting best practices for DEI.
  • Stay at the forefront of the DEI landscape, remaining up to date on emerging topics and opportunities, and identifying new programs or initiatives that can bolster diversity within our organization

HR Communication

  • Meet regularly with department leaders and supervisors to enhance communication related to HR issues and to support ongoing HR needs.
  • Provide longer range HR planning and support of GMRI Strategic Plan.
  • Support COO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • May participate in system-wide task forces/committees that further the goals of the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree a plus
  • HRCI or SHRM certification required

Experience

  • 7-10 years progressive experience in Human Resources
  • 2-3 years of experience in leadership role
  • 5-7 years of experience in a supervisory role

  • Demonstrable commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Facilitation, presentation, and negotiation experience and skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization and participate as a strong contributing team member
  • Ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines; adaptability and flexibility required
  • Knowledge of all federal and state laws regarding employment
