Cubico is looking for an experienced professional to join the Origination and Execution team (O&E) in the US. O&E is set up as a distinct activity within Cubico alongside other activities such as Development, Technical, Asset Management, Legal and Finance.
The candidate should have proven execution experience in M&A transactions of early and mid-stage greenfield renewable energy assets, as well as in raising project financing and tax equity in the US. The candidate will take origination and execution responsibility with a high degree of autonomy.
The successful candidate will be based in Austin, Texas (hybrid) and will report to the US Head of O&E.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting the US Head of O&E and US Country Head on identifying and executing investment opportunities for Cubico in the US, initially targeting acquisition of early and mid-stage greenfield renewable energy projects
Raising project finance and tax equity ahead of construction
Refinance existing debt facilities for operational projects to optimize equity cash flow
Oversee equity investment and underwriting processes, including task allocation and management throughout the investment cycle. Elements of review typically include analyzing financial models, information memoranda, due diligence (legal, technical, environmental, financial, and tax), internal approval process, and drafting of transaction documentation related to the concrete investment opportunities in the US
Collaborate closely with internal teams (Development, Investment Analysis, Legal, Finance, Tax, Technical, Asset Management, etc.)
Work with external advisers in the Origination & Execution (O&E) process, including M&A, Financial, Legal, and Technical advisors.
People Management: Train, support, and oversee collaborators (analysts, associates) in the execution and negotiation of investment transactions, preparation of internal presentations, analyzing optimal transactions, reviewing Due Diligence results, etc.

Experience/Knowledge Required
Proven experience originating and executing renewable energy equity and and debt transactions in the US
Ability to structure and transaction on early and mid stage development assets through upfront or earnout structures
Knowledgeable in raising and structuring US tax equity investments.
Deep understanding of various renewable energy technologies (wind, solar PV, battery storage) and the full investment cycle
In-depth knowledge of the North American Electricity Market and U.S. development process
Excellent communication skills, able to address contractual, commercial, and technical issues
Ability to adapt and reassess priorities in challenging situations and tight deadlines
Relevant academic and professional qualifications
