Director, International Sales

In this role you will be spearheading our global sales initiatives for commercial roofing products. This role involves achieving sales goals (revenue and margin) by promoting a profitable product mix and positioning our company as a premier provider of single-ply commercial roofing products on an international scale. The International Sales Director will oversee a team of Regional Sales Managers (RMs), each leading a team of internal sales personnel and external, independent rep agencies. Sales will be realized through both a network of international distribution partners and direct-to-contractor transactions.

This is a remote position, with 50% overnight travel. We will offer a full relocation package to those interested in relocating to our Divisional HQ in Carlisle, PA for this role.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct international sales activities to achieve continuous profitable sales growth. Oversee the creation, execution and sustainment of regional sales plan and individual Territory Development Plan (TDP) plan of each RM and rep firm pairing within the region.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships to ensure alignment between Carlisle Syntec, its reps, distribution and roofers globally. Focus on sales channel optimization and strategic market penetration in each territory.
  • Support global strategic initiatives including new product development, international marketing efforts and Carlisle Operating System (COS) activities.
  • Facilitate talent acquisition, development and retention within the employee and rep network. Manage Individual Development Plans, perform midyear/yearend reviews and coach/mentor employees.
  • Represents the company in professional organizations at an international level.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, international relations, or related technical field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the building materials industry, preferably within a sales capacity
  • A minimum of three years in international sales


Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in cross-cultural communication
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional collaborative interpersonal skills for a diverse, global team environment.
  • Deep understanding of the international commercial construction market and its business practices.
  • Financial acumen with a global perspective.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and ability to adapt strategies to divers markets


Working Conditions:

  • Office/home office.


Travel Requirement:

  • Up to 50% travel, primarily internationally with occasional domestic travel.
  • Primary international travel includes Canada and Mexico with 1-2 trips to Asia annually.
