Position: Avionics Engineer
Our client, a leading specialty defense contractor in Canada is seeking to hire an Avionics Engineer for their team in Abbotsford.
As an Avionics Engineer, you will provide essential technical expertise in avionics to support electronic and electrical designs and systems.
Please note, this role requires eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, U.S. International Traffic In Arms Regulations, and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Benefits: Extended benefits 100% company paid (after 3 months of employment).
Pension: Pension matching after 6 months.

Responsibilities
- Provide avionics expertise and support for electronic and electrical designs, particularly for Transport and Utility class aircraft.
- Develop engineering orders for technical repair activities, interpreting drawings and producing CAD electrical drawings.
- Modify engineering applications, designs, and specifications as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Offer original and modified avionic and electrical designs, including new installations.
- Write and interpret electrical specifications pertinent to aircraft systems.
- Ensure all modifications meet approval from Transport Canada and FAA.
- Monitor and direct the use of avionic calibration testing equipment, providing training to technicians as necessary.
- Assess the need for testing equipment and procure or rent accordingly.
- 3-5 years' experience in aircraft Electrical/Avionics engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Engineering principles and project management fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II), digital instruments, digital communications, and high-level navigation systems.
- Education:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Avionics Engineering or Technology.
