Children’s Nebraska, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a faculty member in Pediatric Orthopaedics. The opportunity is open to an experienced or newly trained orthopaedic surgeon with interest in pediatric sports medicine sub-specialization. Children’s Nebraska is a vibrant, free-standing pediatric teaching hospital and Nebraska’s only full-service pediatric specialty health care center focused on extraordinary clinical care, education, clinical and outcomes research, and advocacy. The hospital has a Level IV regional NICU, Level II pediatric trauma center, specialized clinical pediatric services, and 24/7 pediatric intensivists. We have 50 Specialty Clinics, 200 Specialists, 14 Satellite Offices, multiple Pediatric Fellowship programs, and is Magnet Certified. Our newest campus expansion brings the total beds to 225 and included expansion to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Fetal Care Center and Fetal Surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Center including dedicated intensive care, Short-Stay Observation Unit, Emergency Department, and Surgical Services. The expansion will also provide new facilities to support education and clinical and outcomes research.

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Program at Children’s Nebraska is seeking an operative pediatric orthopaedic surgeon to join two established non-operative sports medicine physicians in the care of pediatric patients in our region. This program includes a regional outreach program, athletic trainers, sports psychologist and dedicated pediatric sports physical therapists. This position will include a faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. The individual will share in the clinical responsibilities with the five pediatric Orthopaedic faculty. The Child Health Research Institute has been established and will provide start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science, or translational research. We seek individuals with strong emotional and social intelligence. You will need to demonstrate ability to connect with others in a meaningful way at all levels of the organization, while promoting the clinical, academic, research and advocacy mission of the hospital. Candidates will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
