Patient and Guest Information Representative are the initial face of Children’s of Alabama. They are responsible for performing receptionist, patient information, and customer service duties within lobby areas at Children’s of Alabama.
Reporting Relationship: Manager of Patient and Guest Information and Director of Volunteer and Guest Services Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet the public and assist with wayfinding.
Manage guest and temporary staff badge and access needs.
Screen guest before issuing badges and ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
Answer patient information phone lines and assist as needed.
Coordinate delivery of patient mail.
Act as a hospital representative and help connect walk-up donors with appropriate contacts in Child Life and Foundation.
Rotate and serve as a “Greeter” near crosswalks to assist guests as they enter the building.
Assist in training new staff and volunteers.
Maintain physical appearance and safety of the lobby by observing and reporting concerns to appropriate departments.
Information desk staff are essential employees and will be required to work during inclement weather, emergency situations, and holidays.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of receptionist or customer service experience preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
None required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must have a positive attitude, strong customer service skills and the ability and desire to work as a positive team member.
Strong computer skills.
