Main Purpose

The Master Data Governance (MDG) Functional Manager will be part of the Data & Analytics team, contributing to helping the business use data to its fullest extent through Master Data Governance. The MDG Functional Manager will collaborate closely with global and regional functions to understand business demands, translating these into both functional and technical designs. Leveraging your extensive knowledge of SAP MDG and its roadmap, you will advise internal stakeholders on upcoming functionality and contribute to improving data quality and business processes by efficiently managing master data within the organization. You are not afraid to open the hood and perform configuration in the system with the support of the Agile DevOps team, ultimately accelerating MDM delivery in a demanding, data-driven organization.

Main Responsibilities

• Define the SAP MDM/MDG roadmap in close collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Act as a bridge between business and offshore IT delivery teams.
• Assess and advise on new functionalities in SAP MDG with support of the DevOps technical team.
• Ensure that MDM initiatives are implemented on time and on quality in accordance with the Global MDM strategy & roadmap.
• Provide both data and technical expertise through the implementation lifecycle, from project to delivery.
• Validate the integration and management of the end-to-end MDM landscape for all MDG domains including Product, Customer, Supplier, and Financial Master Data.
• Help increase the maturity of the organization's data capabilities by liaising with SAP on SAP MDG innovations, setting up of proof of concept and demos that might add business value.
  
  

Education Required

• Bachelor’s or master degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance or similar.
  
  

Languages Required

• English: Proficient.
• Skills: Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  
  

Knowledge And Experience Required

• 5 years of relevant experience in Master Data management and Governance in a multinational environment.
• Extensive knowledge of the SAP solution offering in S/4 HANA. SAP ECC knowledge is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP MDG including Product, Customer, Supplier, and Financial Master Data model, workflow, data replication and integration.
• Experience in leading and/or performing complex testing scenarios across an MDM landscape.
• Thorough understanding of business processes (Purchase to pay, Demand to supply, etc.) and the impact of master data on these processes.
• Working knowledge of end-to-end Master Data Management systems and Business Analytics solutions.
• Experience in leading or participating in a data-related implementation project.
• Understanding of and experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, or Data Migration would be an advantage.
• Capability to translate business demand into both functional and technical data governance designs.
• Strong analytical mind with focus on attention to detail.
• Comfortable in engaging with (senior) business leaders.
• Drive complex initiatives autonomously and in a coordinated manner.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum DevOps framework is a preference.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
