Overview
CFR’s Blavatnik and Robina Franklin Williams internships give selected interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning.
The intern will help support the fellow's work by contributing to weekly social media research, in addition to other ad-hoc research tasks for certain case studies. The intern will build their knowledge on African history, politics, and economics.
CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.
CFR’s fall internship program gives interns the opportunity to choose whether to work in our office in a hybrid capacity (half in the office, and half remote), or on an offsite fully remote basis.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
$17.50 per hour

- Conduct weekly social media research for fellows' projects
- Assisting with event planning for fellow
- Tracking current events on the continent throughout the term
- Staying on top of news in Africa
- Researching for topics for the fellow
- Undergraduate student, majoring in political science, African studies, international relations, global studies or a related field
- All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
- Prior internship experience, especially in nonprofit or think tank work, a plus
- Excellent research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in French is preferred but not required
$17.50 per hour
