This role is dedicated to ensure that accounting functions are completed in a timely manner and according to established policies. Most of the time spent in this position will be in Accounts Payable - Processing payments of hotel bills after verifying that all documents are accurate as to items, price, extensions and proper receiving and approval by the department heads. Other functions will include Accounts Receivable, daily reconciliations, and guest billing inquiries. This is an entry level position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Match receiving records, purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices for proper GL coding and approvals.
  • Verify room, food, beverage, and audio-visual charges on group master accounts. Prepare invoice and invoice client.
  • Answer inquiries from guests and groups regarding billing.
  • Respond and follow up on special requests from guests/residents with unique needs.
  • Comply with company, brand, and owner quality assurance and audit compliance expectations and standards.
  • Assist in any other tasks as required by management.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs
  • Stand, walk and work at times in confined spaces throughout the shift in full sight of guests

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting
  • Additional language ability preferred

Experience:

  • Must have three to five years of experience in Hotel Accounting in a similar size operation.
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate and prepare calculations for financial reporting
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate reservations and make informed decisions on room availability or guest resolutions with sound judgment
  • Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Previous experience with hotel PMS systems a plus.
