Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Director of Public Relations and Media, where your strategic and creative vision will drive the narrative of the brand to new heights.

Reporting to the VP of Brand and Communications, you will lead in shaping our brand's story through compelling campaigns, dynamic media relations, and strategic communications initiatives. This role is not just about managing the brand's external image but about crafting an engaging narrative that resonates with our audience, inspires trust, and fosters loyalty. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes comprehensive public relations and media strategies (both paid and earned) in collaboration with internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with company mission, goals, and values.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers, proactively pitching stories and securing placements to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborates with external PR firm to augment efforts and manage relationships and assets successfully, ensuring a cohesive approach and effective execution of PR initiatives.
  • Leads crisis communication plan development to ensure timely and effective responses to mitigate reputational risks.
  • Oversees the creation of compelling content, including press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media content, that effectively communicates company key messages and values.
  • Champions company brand internally and externally, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with the company's mission and vision.
  • Leads and inspires a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster growth and excellence.
  • Engages with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors, and industry partners, to build relationships and drive brand advocacy.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of PR and media initiatives, regularly monitoring and analyzing data to optimize strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with marketing, sales, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and communication efforts.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in public relations and media, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences and channels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong previous experience leading and motivating high-performance teams.
  • Experience working with media outlets and demonstrated success in securing media coverage.
