Architectural Designers at SMRT play a crucial role in developing high-quality designs, drawings, and documents under the direct supervision of and in collaboration with the project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incorporates redline markups into drawings, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications.
  • Conducts field measurements and drafts existing facility conditions, providing accurate documentation for project planning.
  • Assists in the production of architectural presentation documents, contributing to the creation of visually compelling and informative materials.
  • Supports general office functions, including printing and copying, to maintain smooth operational workflow.
  • Keeps current with advancements in the field, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Has limited client contact, focusing primarily on technical and production tasks.

Key Skills And Abilities

  • Requires a basic understanding of building materials, systems, code requirements, and construction methods.
  • Possesses an understanding of drafting principles to work efficiently and accurately to produce construction documents.
  • Able to meet deadlines and commitments and function as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented and able to produce a high quality and quantity of work on time.
  • Able to be flexible and adapt in response to changing work conditions and demands.
  • Approaches the position and work in a serious, conscientious and mature manner.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience using Revit.
  • Basic knowledge of SketchUp and Rhino is desired.
  • Experience with energy modeling software is desired.
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software is desired.

Requirements

  • 5-year B-Arch, or BA/BS with M-Arch.
  • 2 - 4 years working experience is desired.
  • Currently working towards licensure through participation in NCARB's AXP or actively engaged in taking the ARE.
