Job Description

Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance the performance of information systems to support the organizational goals.

Ensuring key business requirements are factored into solution architecting, techno-commercial business case proposal making and implementation planning. Should present the complete business case to Senior Management

Leads the design and review processes for new systems. Develop and document the proposed technical design for the integration and implementation of any new software / hardware, working across the IT department

Create detailed plans for the integration of new systems architecture into existing infrastructure. This includes logistical plans for the Operations areas to actually conduct the physical integrations, during which the Infrastructure Architect provides technical direction and support.

Participates in evaluating the success of the project, identifying best practices and lessons learned. Provide feedback to leadership and incorporate this information into future integration plans.

Coordination with vendors/service providers in seeking technical and commercial proposals, negotiation of costs, pre/post purchase relationship management

Hands-on experience in building techno-commercial proposals for internal IT initiatives and business requirements.

Ability to operate across multiple projects simultaneously and assume responsibility for managing project life cycle from design, build and smooth transitioning to operations

Extensive technical understanding, strong consulting, stakeholder management and leadership skills required.

Develops database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

Lead the Database vertical for the enterprise as a Program Manager. Guide the project teams for standards and proposed designs to be followed of effective and scalable database env.

Implement the PCIDSS Standards for complete Database env and be responsible for PCIDSS standards Audit compliance for Database platform.

Implement Near Zero RPO / Active-Active Setup for Database env for all Mission Critical Databases.

People manager for Database administrators, providing them the technical guidance and mentorship to grow

Define a strong and robust process for Database access provisioning

Installs database systems; applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documents actions.

Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.

Identify and correct deviations from database development standards

Create and enforce database development standards

Set up database clusters, backup, or recovery processes

Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.

Develop best practice for database migrations, upgradations due to product obsolences with minimum downtime & impact to the business

Continually monitor, refine and report data management system performance.

Document and communicate database schemas, using accepted notations

Develop load-balancing processes to eliminate down time for backup processes

Identify, evaluate and recommend hardware or software technologies to achieve desired database performance

Monitor and report systems resource consumption trends to assure production systems meet availability requirements and hardware enhancements are scheduled appropriately

Design databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability

Design database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and function-based indexes to enable efficient access of the generic database structure

Collaborate with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements

Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements

Design scalable database to cater heavy business load and database growth, size of more than 60 TB

Strategic Initiatives

Works to build DB strategies through new/innovative technologies to ensure systems reliability & sustainablity in the ever growing business env.

Adequate technical and leadership skills to handle challenging technical scenarios and capable to lead SBIC and extended vendor teams effectively to ensure performance

Build the enterprise monitoring stack where the end-to-end performance of the IT landscape can be monitored. This includes Network, Compute, Storage, Applications, Database, Security components and core Infra components

Ensuring that key performance metrics are captured through the monitoring tools and relevent alerts are generated as per agreed threshold breach limits

Efficient Backup, Restore processes with high RPO and minimum RTO from the database end.

Efficient purging and archiving policies on the DB end

Compliance to security standards, logical access controls, SOD's

Designing cost effective IT solutions

Designed solution must support the organization IT performance requirements

Ensuring Secure and Robust IT Setups

Maximize the uses of exiting IT infrastructure resources

Technical Skills

Oracle RAC, DR Setups, OEM Setup & monitoring, Capacity planning, DB Patching, SQL DB Cluster & DR Setups, Good knowledge of Middleware & Oracle ERP Suite, Performance Tuning, Sound knowledge of OS Linux/Unix, Expertise in Migration & upgradations of Critical databases/16 years of experience/OCP - DBA and RHEL - Redhat Linux Certification

Candidate must be good practitioner in three or more skill areas as given below comprising of Servers, Storage, Networking, Security, Operating System and Management.

Must have Experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Data Center

Experience of application programming including Java

Designing Enterprise-class infrastructure solutions on multiple platforms including RedHat Linux / MS Windows / Oracle DB / MS SQL DB / VMware / Citrix

Compute Infrastructure design for Systems and Storage Infrastructure.

Exposure to virtualization at hardware / software levels, Cloud Computing

Storage Infrastructure design with SAN/NAS/iSCSI technologies and products such as HP, Dell, EMC, Hitachi. Backup Solutions for heterogeneous server platforms such as Windows and Linux

Network Infrastructure design with LAN/WAN technologies including VLAN, VPN and MPLS, and Network security design with IDS/IPS, APT and Firewalls

Enterprise Management System design with products such as HP IT Management Software Suite ( including Operations Manger, Network Node Manager and Service Manager )

Must Have Qualification

B.E. / BTech /MBA /MCA/Any Graduation with relevent Work Experience in Enterprise infrastructure Architecture & Database Management

Overall Experience : 15 Years

Relevant Experience in Role: 10 Years
