Job Summary
This position offers a flexible work schedule and some opportunities to work remotely. The successful candidate will be join a team of 2 dosimetrists, 2 physicians and one physicist.
As a member of the radiation therapy treatment team, the medical physicist plays a major role in the quality assurance of radiation beam calibration of radiotherapy units, patient treatment planning and treatment delivery as well as image guidance devices. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: regular quality assurance testing and dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment, patient treatment planning, physicist consultation to radiation oncologists, treatment plan QA, support for a variety of radiation treatment techniques including VMAT, SRS, SBRT, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, IGRT, weekly chart checks, clinical trials, ACR accreditation and research development.
The technologies offered at the Peeples Cancer Institute include cone and MLC-based SRS, SBRT, a GE Discovery CT, Varian TrueBeam, MIM, Radformation, Eclipse, Aria, Velocity, a full array of SNC products including SunCHECK, MOSFETs, etc.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics or related field.
Licensure/Certification: Board certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics
Experience: 5 years clinical preferred
