We are both service and product, and our staff includes cross-trained specialists in architecture, engineering, industrial design, programming, technology, digital fabrication, manufacturing, and construction. Rather than trying to keep up with the pack, we are making the one the pack will follow.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient completion of construction, excavation, and other related projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and control heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and backhoes, to perform tasks including digging, grading, leveling, and moving materials.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including lubricating, refueling, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction crews, and other team members to understand project requirements and goals.
  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the safety of oneself, team members, and others on the job site.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions.
  • Operate equipment in a controlled and responsible manner to avoid damage to equipment, property, and the environment.
  • Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions or operational difficulties, seeking assistance as needed.
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner, meeting project deadlines and maintaining productivity standards.
  • Complete documentation and records related to equipment operation, maintenance, and work performed.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices to minimize the impact of operations on the surrounding environment.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge of equipment operation techniques, safety procedures, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, with a strong understanding of various types of heavy machinery.
  • Proficiency in operating and controlling heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Solid understanding of construction and excavation processes, along with the ability to read blueprints and project plans.
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and technologies.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to reach job sites.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and work in tight spaces.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
