As Head of Publishing, you will lead the expansion of our publishing efforts while ensuring our current publishing organization is well supported and can continue to thrive. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, execution, and growth of our publishing division. You will oversee the end-to-end publishing process, from strategic planning to execution, ensuring that our brand and franchise can grow far beyond its current size and reach.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build the strategic long-term plan for publishing at ArenaNet. Meet and build relationships with the current publishing groups, identify key roles and org structure required to expand and oversee internal publishing operations.
  • Manage and support current key publishing leaders in running their departments and teams across marketing, sales partnerships, and customer support fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Once the long-term strategy is in place: oversee operations of studio publishing relationship development, business development, franchise expansion game and transmedia opportunities, third party development, and product insights.
  • Identify new market opportunities, target audiences, and distribution channels to maximize the reach and impact of our games.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including game development, finance, legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct market research, analyze player feedback, and gather insights to inform decision-making and optimize publishing strategies.
  • Protect and enhance the reputation and visibility of our gaming brands in the market.
  • Develop and execute brand extension strategies and tactics to expand the reach of our franchises beyond their core internal game development and marketing reach.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 12 years of experience publishing within the gaming industry.
  • 8 years of people management experience.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with external console and PC platforms
  • Proven track record of success in building and extending publishing units across multiple brands or franchises, 3rd party publishing relationships, 3rd party development and/or brand extensions.
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in market analysis, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for gaming and innovation.

This is a hybrid position with approximately two days a week in the office. While we offer some flexibility with the in-office schedule, candidates must be local or willing to relocate.

Please note that the pay range listed in this job posting reflects the full salary range for this position. While we provide this range to offer transparency, our target hiring range is up to $220k, allowing for growth potential within the role.

Total compensation is salary plus an annual bonus potential. When determining an offer amount, many things are taken into consideration such as qualifications, experience, internal equity and work location. We strive to provide competitive and equitable compensation packages to all our employees.

This role is also eligible for medical, dental, vision and life insurance, short and long term disability, 401(k), flexible and dependent care spending accounts, PTO, paid holidays and parental leave.

Bellevue Pay Range

$193,700—$300,235 USD
