Head of GTM Specialists, Worldwide Public Sector, WWSO

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) at AWS is seeking an accomplished leader to join as the Go-To-Market (GTM) Specialist Leader, Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS). In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Specialists and Solutions Architects who work closely with public sector customers globally to accelerate their adoption of AWS for complex solutions, services, and workloads across a variety of domains, including Gen AI, High Performance Computing, Large-scale data processing and analytics, High-performance storage, Application and data modernization, Mainframe, enterprise workloads, and cloud-native workloads.

As the GTM Specialist Leader for WWPS, you will be the single-threaded owner for this specialist team and be responsible for working with specialist teams globally and act as an aggregation point for all the customer feedback that helps prioritize feature and service development. You will collaborate closely with the WWPS leadership team to identify emerging trends, prioritize investments, and ensure that customer feedback directly shapes the product and service roadmaps at AWS.

AWS is seeking an accomplished leader with a proven track record of success in driving cloud adoption and digital transformation within large and high-growth organizations in the public sector. You should have extensive experience across product, business, and technology domains, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by public sector customers on their cloud-native journeys.

In this role, you will lead a team of technical, product, and business experts, engaging in domain-based discussions with C-suite executives, IT leaders, architects, developers, and various lines of business. You will serve as a critical link between the customer and the WWSO, ensuring that the voice of the customer is amplified and effectively influences the technology roadmaps and go-to-market plans at AWS.

This is a strategic and high-impact role that will contribute to the overall performance of the business globally, as measured by revenue growth, net new customers, and product and service influence. AWS is looking for candidates who have consistently overachieved in their careers and built strong, deep relationships with leading public sector organizations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leading the creation of GTM plan, as well as oversee tactical execution, of insight-based programs and go to market activities with a focus on expanding AWS market share with top customers, segments, and verticals
  • Using your business acumen to drive revenue, develop sales programs and identify new markets and opportunities. You would work directly with the most interesting and demanding customers to understand their requirements and turn them into reality
  • Partnering with AWS services and industry teams to identify workloads that impact our AWS solutions
  • Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will allow you build sales enablement tools, evangelize our platform with our enterprise and mid-market customers as well as our valued partners and serve as the primary Executive Briefing Center representative of the WWSO business
  • Act as a trusted business advisor while deep diving into data, creating high impact programs, and tracking progress while tuning for desired results
  • Be a leader of virtual teams. You will guide cross functional teams to drive AWS adoption in the key workloads that use the WWSO portfolio
  • Define, drive, measure, manage and coach on workload focused goals across the business

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Basic Qualifications

  • 7 years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
  • Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 7 years of professional or military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and leading large teams and have worked in matrixed operating structures
  • Experience selling public sector customers to include Federal, State & Local government, Universities, Healthcare organizations or Non-profits.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $174,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
