Compensation

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Role Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the coordination of Wayfinder’s Facilities Department, including multi-site locations with various facets, including maintenance team, fleet management, and safety and security operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. This position is responsible for directing and implementing company-driven initiatives and directives to create an effective facilities management program while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvements to support the mission, purpose, and values of the organization.

The Director of Facilities Services serves as a member of the Wayfinder’s leadership team.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, strategic initiatives, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborates to integrate the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) into all aspects of the organization. Assists with the development and implementation of IDEA initiatives in support of Wayfinder’s strategic plan goals of advancing equity.
  • Prepares written reports and recommends and presents highly responsible and complex projects to executive leadership to include by not limited to budgeting, forecasting, departmental performance and evaluations on past, current and future tasks.
  • Provides training and professional development for department personnel promoting continued individual development and team cross training ensuring consistency with all staff and maintaining up to date procedures.
  • Manages the preparation of bid packages related to maintenance service contracts, scheduled maintenance, and facilities renewal projects; monitors, evaluates, analyses, and updates general, special, and technical specifications and contractor safety program.
  • Administrates outside consultants and construction contracts and ensures correct project closeout and warranty administration.
  • Reviews and audits third party vendors by implementing and reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversees fleet management operations and maintains fleet vehicles up to date to include maintenance program and current registration and all documentation as required by state law.
  • Oversees and implements Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) initiative programs and prioritize urgent repairs including but not limited to HVAC, fire alarm, safety programs, custodial, boilers, generators, electrical and plumbing along with all other building/campus related systems.
  • Oversees and manages risk management and continuous quality improvement in assigned areas of responsibility. Promotes the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Senior Director, Information System Technology and Facilities.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, is preferred.

Experience

  • Must have at least 10 years facilities experience in a leadership and supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical expertise in building systems and operations.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and safety regulations including compliance requirements for American Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.
